There are not the large architectoncal wonders to amaze, but well maintained rural buildings and a unique natural landscape. The whole bay Wismarbucht is an European dependency of birds. Many sections of the coast are natural dependencies, especially the rare salt meadows.
In this surrounding there settled down a lot of artists too. Manor houses found new owners, who worry about a careful restauration.
