The lagune Salzhaff with its natural leaved coastal landscape is an inner Sea district of the bay Wismar-Bucht (western Baltic) in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Surrounded of steep coastlines, dunes and salt meadows the lagune extends from the western situated peninsula Boiensdorfer Werder to the little baltic seaside resort Rerik.
Lover of nature appreciate the Region Salzhaff as an area with a high diversity of species in flora and fauna. Saltmeadows with high biodiversity grew out of regulary floodings. They are now f.i.a botanical reserve for the maintenance of rare plant communities. The observation of the much waterbird species is here a most impressive natural experience.
